Managing copyright is the key to copyright compliance. Many of those who manage copyright law are struggling with understanding convoluted copyright laws rather than dealing with how to practically work within the law. Most aspects of copyright law are not black and white and are not static.
For seven years now, the Certificate in Copyright Management (CCM) program has focussed on understanding copyright from a librarian’s and information professional’s perspective. The program is a collaboration between the Special Libraries Association and Copyrightlaws.com. It is a blended learning program with seven online courses and two in-person courses. Mark your calendar for 3 September 2014, 1 – 2 pm, for a free CCM Open House. The Open House will briefly define copyright management and copyright compliance from the perspective of all information professionals including librarians, publishers and vendors, and publishers and vendors who work with these groups. Focus will then be on what’s involved in the Certificate in Copyright Management program, including course content, and how the online, on-demand and in-person courses work. If you’re interested in copyright law and need to learn to manage copyright and licensing digital content issues, this is an opportunity to join a practical program that is both informative and nurturing. A unique way to learn copyright!
